Mesh is a wire mesh or wire screening material that has been used as a “winding” for some time. The advantage of mesh is that the woven sieve gives you a very large surface area for evaporation. This is often reflected in the taste. But there are also ready-made coils that are equipped with mesh, so you don't necessarily have to use a do-it-yourself coiler to get the benefits of a mesh coil.
